It all started when…

In 2012 when I decided to go along to a self-defence class as another way to keep active and fit yet learn something practical. Despite being quite a confident person when I walked into a class where there was only one other woman it was pretty intimidating!

I needn't have worried, they really looked after me that night and I have never looked back. I left sweaty, exhausted and grinning like a cheshire cat. Krav maga training was exhilarating and I was hooked.

Fast forward to now. I completed the General Instructors Course (GIC) which is 180 hours of intensive krav maga training as well as the KIC (Kids Instructor Course) a specific course to learn how to teach children and teenagers.

In 2015 I relocated to Dorset and set up my own school Focus Krav Maga (Dorset) and now get to spend my days teaching in my club, in local schools as part of their enrichment and PSHE programmes. In addition I teach private clients and small groups as well as speaking at events about developing a fighting mindset, building resilience and overcoming limiting beliefs.

What little spare time I have I spend volunteering as a school Governor, walking my slightly mental terrier cross Red, and getting outdoors with my photographer husband.
